#Malaysia’s best family resort
#Malaysia’s best pool villa
Port Dickson is a well-known beach paradise in Malaysia. Since I was a kid, I have been to Port Dickson for countless times. Port Dickson is easily accessible compare to the islands and an ideal choice for sunny short vacations within the country. I had arranged to stay at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson resort for our family trip last month to indulge ourselves and enjoy a different Port Dickson.
It took us about two and a half hours driving from Johor to the resort. The whole resort area consists of main tower, hibiscus leaf area, beach and walkways. It is like a waterfront village where you are accessible to all kinds of activities during your stays. I had booked the Premium Pool Villa. It was located at the hibiscus petal area with panorama sea view with also a private dip pool and in room sauna facility. The air-conditioned room was spacious, bright and clean with two large beds. The most special feature of the room was the glass panel on the floor which enabled us to see the marine life underneath!
We were hungry after checking in as it was already passed lunch time. Checked about the available restaurants, there were a lot of choices from oriental cuisine, western cuisine, Japanese cuisine to pastries and coffee. We had some sandwiches and coffee at Coralz Bistro, didn’t want to be too full as we wanted to have some outdoor activities after that. We brought the kids to the Water Jpark which has an 8 meters inflatable slides and a lot of kid’s favourite inflatable water floats. After playing for a while, we decided to go to the beach – A must when you are at Port Dickson. Bringing along our little ones, we could only had some fun making sand castle and playing with water at the shallow area of the beach. Luckily it was not too hot that day and the beach was not too crowded. Kids were happy and we also enjoyed our family time very much!
After a whole afternoon’s outdoor activities, we used up a lot of energy and we were craving for good dinner in the evening! Our choice for dinner was UMI Japanese restaurant, which was recommended by the staffs, said to be making cuisine from freshest ingredients by experienced chefs. The restaurant did not disappoint us. We liked the fresh sashimi and crispy tempura a lot. Food quality was as good as the best Japanese restaurant in the city!
The resort itself is charming scenery with the waters of Strait of Melaka as its gorgeous background. Everywhere is good spot for photo shooting. Lightings at night made the buildings even unique. We strolled about the walkways after dinner enjoying cool breeze. Then we went to the Pool Bar to have some drinks before we called it a day.
We woke up early in the next morning. We could see sunrise and the sky gradually turned bright just lying on the beds. Roselle Coffee House was our breakfast place. The coffee house has a wide range of cuisines from Asian food, western cuisine to buffet lunch and dinner. Basically, in Lexis Hibiscus you do not need to worry what to have for your next meals.
After breakfast we brought the kids to the Kidz World for them to have some activities with the other children while we could go outdoor again for water sports. I was impressed with Kidz World environment. The set up was very safe and with staffs who would guide the kids throughout the activities. My little ones had selected recycled bottle crafts and DIY greeting cards as their mission. After they settled down at this kid’s paradise, we went out to have some fun!
One of the specialties of this resort is helicopter ride. We were lucky to visit the place on Saturday when this service was available. It was an interesting experience being in a helicopter for the first time in my life! High up from the sky, we enjoyed a spectacular view of Port Dickson landscape. A lot of beautiful photos were taken to record the unforgettable memory of this special encounter.
In the evening we went for the cruise ride. We do fish feeding before waiting to get onboard. The temperature had begun to cool down in the evening. Sitting outdoor of the boat showered by the sea breeze was very relaxing. The ride was one and a half hour. When we arrived at the resort, the night had fall and it was time again for a good meal.
Another highlight of Saturday night was the fire show. When it was completely dark, the performers dressed in tribal costumes danced and played with fires that light up the beach. Every 31 December of the year there will be a countdown event at this beach which is opened to the public. We heard that last year it had attracted about 3000 visitors. When the show ended, we were also exhausted. However, we did not want to go to bed too early as we would be leaving this beautiful resort on the next day. We went 13th floor of the main building to the Sky Lite Bar to have some drinks and snacks. In the bar we were presented to the most enchanting night view of Port Dickson which marked a perfect closing for our holiday!
In fact, there are a lot more activities for guests to carry out like indoor game room, gym, spa, karaoke, cycling and even tour to the Army Museum and Regina Mall by free shuttle bus service. We could only be selective coming only for 3 days 2 nights stay. However, there can always be a next trip isn’t it? My family enjoyed this trip a lot. Lexis Hibiscus has given the best definition for a Port Dickson vacation!
